Patchwork zipper wristlet

Patchwork zipper wristlet

I love the idea of using materials that may not suit production and breathing new life into them. Patchwork is a great way to use and reinvent remnant materials from other projects. You may recognize some of the same fabrics I used for the face masks sold out earlier. I collect fabrics on my travels and incorporated them as well. It was a lot of fun cutting out the squares and placing them in different positions to get the most pleasing visual effect. I then quilted the patchwork free style and added the natural raw leather tab and wristlet so it can be worn in more ways. Great little one of a kind bag for your essentials. You can buy it here.

The inside is lined with a sturdy neutral gray cotton.

And here are some in-process pics. If you've made a bag with lining, you'll know this as "the moment of truth" when you finally turn the work right side out to reveal how it will look when finished:

Here's a clearer photo of the "freestyle" quilting:

The earliest stage in the making process where moving the pieces around and picking different patterns to get the effect I wanted was super satisfying.
